Afghanistan government has prepared laws and regulations, some of which are yet to be implemented, governing a wide array of non-state organizations, including NGOs and associations. This handbook aims to support civil society associations to enable them to operate sustainably and flexibly by providing a critical overview and practical guidance on current and potential legislation applicable to them. It further does so by showing how applicable laws, including also the country's constitution and international human right laws, can protect interests of civic organizations during the legislation process.
